pyontan 0.8.2 Changelog

Woah we have more fonts over here and some new features too! Most notably there's an update to the manga reader, and two new features being the AI Tutor where you can ask it any Japanese related questions and the Notebook system where you can create all kinds of personal notes and access them on any device + the app.

Additions:

Desktop:

  • Notebook in the app (Home > Notebook, or the tray menu), uses the same one as on the site. Without a connection it shows what was last loaded
  • Add to note on word cards (Dictionary, Popups, Reading Assist, History)

Dashboard:

  • Notebook can be made from a variety of places and can be customized a lot as well as being able to possess a custom tag
  • In the reader you can tap a number on a number paged to see its line (badge version now works for manga)
  • AI Tutor (different from AI Conversation), you can ask anything about Japanese and it'll answer for you and can answer follow-up questions too, has a 7 day history
  • Add pages to your library from files: Library > Uploads > Add pages from files

Desktop + Dashboard:

  • Fonts in notes

Updated:

Desktop:

  • Numbered pages exported from Batch Translate keep their text inside the picture as metadata for the batch translate

Dashboard:

  • AI conversation is now available on premium too with 30 replies a day to give it a go, Super Premium gets more now (300 up from 200)

Desktop + Dashboard:

  • More hosted AI & grammar explanations for each tier, just check Pricing because I'm too lazy to put the comparisons here

Fixes:

Dashboard:

  • Manga pages load much faster now (on average about ~6x smaller and about ~2-3x faster with little-no quality change)
  • Furigana wider than its word no longer spreads the word apart, e.g. 勉強 (べんきょう) no longer made it 勉 強
  • A title's page says 1 page and 1 chapter (it said 1 pages), and the counts and dates under it are translated
  • The manga reader uses the site's font, now Times New Roman, who on earth uses Times new Rom-
